Our Program
Breeding Approach
Temperament comes first. We choose dogs that are steady, social, and adaptable.
Health and structure matter. Health is non-negotiable. All breeding dogs pass thorough, breed-specific health testing before they are considered for our program. This includes OFA or equivalent certifications, which may include eye exams by a board-certified ophthalmologist, patella checks, and DNA panels for poodle-specific concerns.
Genetic soundness. We pay attention to pedigrees and diversity, avoiding trends that compromise health.
Transparency. We’ll tell you what our lines excel at and where they need a steady hand. No sugarcoating.
Early Development
From day one, our puppies are set up to succeed:
Gentle handling and early neurological stimulation
Exposure to new surfaces, sounds, and sights
Socialization with real-life household activities
Early crate and potty training foundations
Introduction to leash and recall
Training can shape a dog, but it’s the breeding, and the health behind it, that sets the foundation.
Training Included
Every Mezzo Poodle benefits from our experience at Luke’s Lodge:
Go-home session for your family
Starter training plan
Two virtual follow-ups in the first two months
Discounted advanced training options
We don’t send you home guessing.
The Parents
Our breeding dogs live as part of our family or in carefully chosen guardian homes where they are loved and well-socialized. Every parent dog has complete health testing and a temperament profile before entering our program. When we use outside studs, we work only with trusted, proven breeders whose sires meet the same strict health and temperament standards as our own. On our website, youll find each parent’s profile, including:

Our parent dogs are the foundation of everything we do, and we’re proud to stand behind each one.
